This proceedings contains 99 selected papers from the 8th Conference of the International Association for the Study of Child Language (IASCL) held in Donostia-San Sebastián in the Spanish Basque Country in July 1999. The proceedings includes the plenary addresses by Jean-Paul Bronckart, Brian MacWhinney, and Miquel Siguan. The other 96 papers are organized into sections on bilingualism, discourse, phonology, language disorders, lexicon, morphology, syntax, and signed languages. Several of these sections include symposia with introductions as well as individual papers. We have posted the complete table of contents.

The proceedings is available on CD-ROM and as a two-volume set in library binding. The papers are identical in both editions.

The papers on the CD are in Acrobat (.pdf) format. Acrobat Reader 5 for Mac and for Windows is included on the CD. Windows minimum system requirements are a CD-ROM drive and a copy of Acrobat Reader 5 or higher. Macintosh minimum system requirements are a CD-ROM drive and a copy of Acrobat Reader 4 or higher. The free Acrobat Reader is available with a search function which will allow you to find words and phrases easily in any paper in the proceedings. You can obtain the most recent version of Acrobat Reader from Adobe's web site at www.adobe.com.
